Haley's story

Over two years ago God revealed to me my calling. Today, He has miraculously and divinely aligned the desires He placed on my heart, proving that He’s not done with me yet.

I first came to Shoreline under protest. New to Texas, my family and I were in search of a home church. Although I believed we had already found one, my family wasn’t sold on the idea. So, when we were invited to Shoreline, my parents eagerly accepted and eventually chose it as our home church.

As we continued to go to Shoreline my parents became more insistent on my attending youth group, despite my fervent efforts to convince them that I was fine with just going to the main service. I had never consistently attended a youth service before and I was okay with keeping it that way.

However, they won the debate and I went to youth group for the first time.

The worship and message was something I had never experienced before and it left me feeling excited to return. Eventually, what started out as reluctance became eagerness.

God revealed to me my passion and calling for this generation, that we are meant to be the change that changes the world and bring Heaven to Earth.

Flash-forward nearly three years and I am actively serving within youth ministry, leading small groups and just recently completed a summer internship with Shoreline Youth. Now, God has placed it on my heart to stay in Austin, Texas for college and be a full-time resident for youth ministry, as I work toward His calling for my life as a Youth Pastor. I am truly blessed by this opportunity to be a part of this Residency program as it is my hope and belief that God is going to use me to bless others through youth ministry.

I’m so thankful for the community He has given me here at Shoreline and I can’t wait to see what God is going to do this next year in my life and in the lives of those around me!
