CAITLYN's story

"I felt the call to ministry when I was 14 years old in the middle of a worship service.

I didn’t know what ministry, exactly, until I was 19 but in the summer of 2009, I knew the Lord was calling me to serve His people. Once I started serving in worship ministry at Shoreline, the Lord made it abundantly clear that I was being called to be a worship pastor.

And so, having just completed my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin this past May, I am ready to embark on my pastoral journey.

The reason I chose to study sociology was because of my love for people.

I am so passionate about finding the best ways to love the people that the Lord puts in my life and my study of sociology helped me grow in that. This residency, I know, will continue to grow my heart for people. I want to love people better every day and in every way and a full year of pastoral training will absolutely stretch me and challenge me in very important ways.

The residency is designed to give you not only the practical skills that you need to be a worship leader, but the space and grace to grow spiritually and pastorally. I am honored to have the opportunity to continue to grow in the house that, truly, built me. I am ready to give back and serve my home, Shoreline Church, in every way that I can. Whether I stay here at Shoreline or I am sent out to find a new home at the end of the next year, I want to be ready for whatever God has for me."
